The following describes the flow of the GLPARS investigation process.

Initial Contact

  1. The GLPARS case manager and/or Lead Investigators will perform initial contact with the client (this may be through the GLPARS website or personal contact). At this time general information about the location, people involved and paranormal activity will be gathered.
  2. The GLPARS case manager will meet with the GLPARS lead investigator(s) to determine the viability of the case.
  3. If the case is determined to be viable
    1. The GLPARS case manager and GLPARS lead investigator(s) with determine team and equipment availability. 
    2. The GLPARS case manager and lead investigator(s) will work with the client to set up a investigation date/time/location.
    3. A GLPARS case will be opened.
  4. If the case is determined to be not viable
    1. The GLPARS case manager and lead investigator(s) will discuss with the client why an investigation is not possible and what may need to happen to make it viable.

Note: GLPARS does not ask nor expect payment for its services. While donations are accepted, donations will not change a decision of an investigation nor change the investigation method.

During Investigation

  1. The GLPARS lead investigator(s) (and some/all of the team) will greet the client and explain what GLPARS does
  2. The GLPARS lead investigator(s) will conduct a detailed interview with the client to determine the following:
    1. What paranormal phenomena have taken place?
    2. What areas of the location seem to be the most active?
    3. How many people/pets are normally located at the client site?
    4. How many people/pets will be at the client site during the investigation?
    5. Have the client give a tour of the site.
    6. Determined the client expectations for the investigation.
    7. GLPARS lead investigator(s) will explain how they will (or will not) be able to meet the client expectations
    8. Have the client decide whether
      1. GLPARS is there is look for paranormal phenomena or 
      2. GLPARS is there is look for paranormal phenomena and assist in its removal
    9. Determine if the client wants to be present during investigation
  3. GLPARS lead investigator(s) and team will determine the locations the will be investigated and what equipment to use.
  4. The GLPARS team will set up the equipment and initialize the recorders
  5. Each investigation team will do the following
    1. State the time/location and team members whenever they change locations or people come/go from the location
    2. Tell each others of any feelings, sights, sounds no matter how insignificant it seems
    3. No whispering
    4. Perform EVP sessions
      1. Ask if there is anyone that wants to communicate
      2. Talk into the voice recorders
      3. Talk, show themselves in the video camera
      4. Make the EMF detector flash and beep
      5. Point out any external sound that may be confused on the recordings
      6. Use terms that someone from another time may understand
    5. Take video and photos are needed
    6. Ensure that tapes and batteries are changed as required
    7. Never work alone – at least 2 people per group
    8. Communicate with other groups as needed/required – call in help if needed.
    9. If the situation changes, go with the flow
  6. The GLPARS teams will meet up occasionally to explain what has happened and any plan changes
  7. The GLPARS lead investigator(s) will determine that the investigation is over
  8. At the end of the investigation
    1. The GLPARS team will
      1. Discuss the nights events
      2. Discuss and record any/all personal experiences
      3. Gather all equipment
      4. Ensure that the location looks the same as when they arrived
    2. The GLPARS lead investigator(s) will
      1. Ensure that the data is extracted and divided up – the actual extraction will depend on the time and location
      2. Ensure that all equipment is packed up and accounted for
      3. Perform a post-mortem with the client and explain the next steps
        1. Team will review data collected
        2. Team will update website as data is reviewed
        3. A follow up will be scheduled with client after all data is reviewed
  9. GLPARS lead investigator(s) will ensure that the team safely leaves the client site.

After the Investigation

  1. One of the GLPARS lead investigator(s) will open an investigation under the case.
  2. The data gathered from the investigation will be examined
    1. Video
    2. Audio
    3. Photographic
    4. Review of personal experiences
  3. The data will be cross referenced – match audio recordings together, match video to audio as applicable
  4. Any pieces of evidence gathered with be reviewed by the GLPARS lead investigator(s) and team members to determine its validity.
  5. The GLPARS lead investigator(s) will update the GLPARS website with description of the case/investigation as well any evidence
  6. The GLPARS case manager will arrange another meeting with the client
  7. The GLPARS lead investigator(s) and/or case manager will meet with client and provide them with evidence and recommendations
  8. Follow up investigations with the client will be determined at the meeting
