This is a case that is near and dear to the hearts of all of the GLPARS members. Not only is this the household of two of our members, but it is also the case where we first worked with an extremely talented clairvoyant, Carolyn Marie, who has become a very good friend of the society. We have witnessed many unexplained and astounding happenings since the time of meeting Carolyn. If it were not for this case, GLPARS may have never been founded. Many of us owe our interest in the paranormal and unexplained to this case.
For years, Mike and Fotini have suspected paranormal activities in their home - from unexplained noises, to apparitions, to an overall negative feel to the house. The paranormal activity had heightened after the homeowners conducted a Ouija board session with some friends and family. The spirits with which they were communicating were very active and responsive to the questions being asked. Upon asking for a sign of the spirits' presence, the response was "Too vulgar, upstairs". The response didn't make sense until Mike journeyed upstairs to get a camera. When he entered the master bedroom, he noticed a stack of boxes had been constructed on the dresser while everyone in the house was downstairs. The boxes of holiday cards and other items had previously been laid out on the bed. Images of the stack are provided below (click the image for a full view). Everyone came to look at the pyramid. It was constructed in a strange way, with items teetering on edges. No one was able to reconstruct this pyramid once it was taken down.
A few days later, a family member had a reading scheduled with Carolyn Marie. This was the first time that any of us had met the clairvoyant. After telling her the story and showing her the pictures of the pyramid and a few other examples of strange phenomena in the house, she insisted that they head over to the house immediately. She advised that several evil spirits were residing in the house and were trapping the spirit of a little girl there, keeping her from moving on. A week later, Carolyn came to the house to free the little girl and clean the house of the bad spirits. When she completed the process, she informed the homeowners that a sign of thanks would be displayed to them within a few days.
The morning after the house was cleaned, a sign did appear that could be interpreted as that token of thanks provided by a good spirit. While Fotini was sitting in the basement at the computer, with her back to the staircase, she saw a quick white flash out of the corner of her eye. She thought nothing about it, as this type of activity was very common in the house. Shortly after seeing the flash, Mike came down the stairs, and astonished, asked Fotini, "What is that?" A pyramid of pool cues had been constructed while she had been in the basement, and it happened right behind her back. She had walked through the space where this pyramid was created just five minutes before. Being the only ones home at the time, the homeowners were floored. This was a strange occurrence, and no one has been able to explain how the pyramid was assembled, who assembled it, or why. This type of sign was unexpected. Carolyn was impressed, telling Mike and Fotini that this was a rare treat, and that the pyramid had been constructed by a strong Native American spirit in the area. She said that they should feel blessed that this spirit had interacted with them.
After the house was cleaned, a good amount of the paranormal activity had subsided in the house. The negative air of the home was then gone. After some time, the activity started to ramp up again. It has not escalated to the point that it was before, but it seems to be getting stronger and stronger. Some examples of the activity that they have noticed are:
Footsteps on the main level of the home when no one else is present.
Lights and power go out and are returned shortly after.
An apparition of a little girl standing on the other side of the shower curtain was seen by Mike while he was in the shower. (This was prior to the little girl's spirit being freed.)
Uneasy, unsettling feelings in different parts of the house.
A general negative feeling (arguing, fighting, and stress) in the house.
Whispers, chewing sounds, and other noises were heard in the bedroom of one of the daughters.
Research:
We are in the process of researching this home, its property and its past. Upon completion of the research, we will post what we find.
Conclusion:
We have now visited the house four times. The level of activity seemed to have dropped each time. We are not certain of the cause for this. We hope that it is related to the cleaning of the house by the clairvoyant.
This house has been very fruitful for us. We found quite a bit of paranormal activity there, and we were amazed at the number of EVPs we captured. Considering all the evidence and personal experiences of the people in the house, we can safely say that this is (or was) a haunted house.
The most recent paranormal activity in the house has been focused around the bedrooms of one of the daughters and the basement of the house.
The recent activity in the daughter's bedroom includes hearing banging, whispering, and chewing sounds. People have also experienced physical sensations in this room, such as getting a poke on the shoulder or feeling the mattress being pushed down as though someone were leaning or sitting on it.
The recent activity in the basement includes people hearing footsteps on the main floor, hearing whispering, and having a general uneasy feeling while being down there.
Location:
Although we did some investigation in other parts of the house, since the bulk of the activity had been focused around the basement and the one bedroom, we focused our efforts on these two locations.

Investigation Process:
We started the investigation with an interview of the homeowners to find out what has been going on and where the hot spots were.
Following the interview, we performed an EMF sweep of the entire inside of the house. We did find a few spots of high EMF readings, but they came from the usual suspects (the stove, a light, and some wires runnning behind a bathroom mirror). Nothing stood out as a possible reason for reaction to EMF sensitvity.
We proceeded to set up digital recorders - one in the bedroom in question and one in the basement. We would leave these running through the entire investigation. We would also use these for EVP sessions later in the evening.
We split into groups to perform the investigation, taking turns walking through, hitting the hot spots, sweeping for EMF, and scanning temperatures. We also held several EVP sessions in different areas of the house.
While investigating in the basement, Todd decided to test if he could get a spirit to make the EMF detector alarm go off. This was successful, and we continued to use this method in the basement and the daughter's bedroom, literally to have a conversation with several spirits. See the findings section below for further details.
Research:
Outside of the standard case research (including the property and history of the property), we are also in the process of researching the name Brian Bishop, due to the fact that we got a strong EVP relaying that name.
Once this research is complete, we will post any information that we find.

Although hundreds of pictures were snapped throughout the night using four different digital cameras, no significant findings were made in the photos.
Video
No video evidence was captured on the HI-8 cameras.
Audio/EMF
We had quite a breakthrough in what we feel is direct communication with several spirits by using our EMF detectors in both the basement and in the daughter's bedroom. We communicated by asking a question and then asking the spirit to make the EMF detector blink twice for a "yes" answer and once for a "no" answer. We were astounded at the response we received with this method since we have attempted this at other locations with no success. As it turned out, we had a 38-minute conversation with spirits in the basement, and a 36-minute conversation with what we determined to be a young Greek spirit in the bedroom.

We were also rather successful in catching EVPs here. These were caught during our EVP sessions and while the digital recorders were left running while no one was present. See the EVP exhibit section to review these files.
Conclusion:
This investigation turned out to be more amazing than we had originally anticipated, and we consider it to be a big success. We have definitely caught paranormal activity, and we can deem this property as being haunted.
Since the conclusion of this case, we have heard from the homeowners again, who state that the paranormal activity has heightened. We have plans of bringing in a priest to bless this house in order to help reduce the activity and release some of the lost souls being harbored here. We have also planned another invesigation at this property. Stay tuned.
The first investigation of this property turned out to be fairly successful in terms of EVPs and audio evidence.
We had decided to conduct a follow-up investigation because the homeowners had reported some more activity since our last visit. They claimed to have heard whispering and have had uneasy feelings in one of the bedrooms. Also, they claimed to have heard unexplained noises and seen apparitions in the home's upstairs hallway.
Location:
Although we investigated other parts of the home, the majority of our time was focused on the basement and one upstairs bedroom because most of the paranormal activity has been noted there.

Investigation Process:
First we did a complete EMF and temperature sweep of the home, seeking out any high areas of EMF or sources for temperature variances. We did not find any areas that were different from the previous investigation.
We split into two teams with one team upstairs and the other in the basement. We switched up the teams half-way through the investigation to see if there were any differences.
Each team conducted EVP sessions and attempted communications via EMF detectors (since we were successful doing that in the previous investigation). We continued to scan for EMF and temperature changes. There were two IR cameras running throughout the evening - one in the bedroom and one in the basement.

Conclusion:
Although we were disappointed in the amount of evidence captured, we consider this investigation to be a success because we were able to record some EVPs. We did not capture any photographic or video evidence, however, and no one had any personal paranormal experiences. No one on the team had the same unusual feelings that they had had in the previous investigation.
More activity has been reported since our last investigation at this property:
The youngest daughter in the home and one of the homeowners witnessed a full-body apparition. While the daughter was in bed, she saw a shadow of a person growing up the wall behind her and heard a voice repeat "I'm gonna, I'm gonna...." She could not make out the last part of what the spirit was trying to say, as she did not stay in the room long enough. Later, the homeowner saw the same shadow while passing by that bedroom. Both witnesses said that it was a short outline of a person with a ponytail coming out of the top of its head.
Several people in the house have heard laughing and experienced a general feeling of uneasiness.
While one of the homeowners was in the basement of the house, he heard what sounded like hundreds of people whispering all at once.
Location:
Once again, since the majority of the reported activity was from the basement and a particular bedroom, we focused our attention in these areas. We did a complete sweep for any EMF and temperature variances, but none were found.

Investigation Process:
We ran a lean crew on this investigation. Since we had a small number of people, we did not see the need to split up.
We set up a camera and voice recorder in the basement and headed upstairs to the bedroom where the activity was reported. We set up a camera and voice recorder in that bedroom, too. We started the investigation there, conducting EVP sessions and attempting to make contact. After some time, we moved to the basement and attempted to make contact there. We finished up the investigation by returning to the bedroom for one last try at communication.
While in the bedroom, we attempted to debunk the shadow anomaly, but we were not able to do so.

This investigation did not reveal as much as the previous investigations of this home.

Personal Experience
We did have some personal experiences in this home:
Two of us heard whispering in the bedroom. We were able to find a recording of that whispering during our review of the audio, and it is included in the audio section.
Two people heard another whispering voice in the basement. This voice was captured too, and is available in the audio section.

Conclusion:
This investigation did not yield as much evidence as the first investigation of the house. It seems that the paranormal activity has decreased considerably.
When the homeowners contacted us after the appearance of the shadow, we had them go into the room and forcefully ask the spirit to leave. We also had them use some holy water in that room and throughout the house. We suggested that they attempt a blessing of the home. These actions appear to have helped since the paranormal activity seems to have lessened.
Based on the evidence that we have captured during the investigation, we still feel that the home does have paranormal activity, although it appears to have diminished over time. We are hoping that the advice provided to the homeowners is the reason for this. We have offered to help the homeowners with getting this home blessed by a priest.
We decided to perform another investigation of the house since there had been some significant personal changes for the homeowner and they were planning on moving out of the house. This was probably our last chance to investigate the house. There had not been any major incidents reported in the past six months. The homeowner did say that she still hears noises throughout the house - as if the family is up and about even if they are still asleep or not at home.
Location:
We decided to target the same bedroom and basement as on our other visits to the house. In addition, since we had acquired an additional voice recorder we were also able to set up a recrder on the main floor - den. We did sweep of the home for any EMF variances. None were found.

Investigation Process:

We conducted an EVP session in the basement until the furnance kicked on. We knew, from prior investigations in the house, that the noise from the furnance would negate any evidence collected. We left the voice recorder in the basement and then proceeded to the main floor.
A short EVP session was conducted in the main floor den and kitchen. We then headed upstairs to the bedroom for another EVP session.
On the main floor kitchen area we received a number of EMF anomalies, after some investigation we realized that these were being caused by cell phones.

No research was conducted for this investigation.
Findings:
This was our first investigation since the incident in CorkTown. It felt good to get back in the saddle. This was our fourth visit to the house and it was definitely different than the last visits, we did not have any feelings of anything going on it the house, it almost felt empty.

Conclusion:
While we were investigating the house, we did not feel like there was anything going on. Even though the activity seemed to drop, we were surprised to find that there were a few good EVPs that were picked up. It is definitely less than it was in the past.
Is the change in the activity the result of us having the homeowner tell the spirits that they were no longer welcome (in our previous visit)? Or is the change caused by the change in the personal circumstances of the homeowner? Or have the spritis decided to move on? In any case, the level of activity seems to have dropped to an acceptable/tolerable level.
This is the fifth official investigation at the house. The house is currently empty and awaiting sale. We were able to go into the house for only a couple of hours.
We were interested in seeing if there was anything left in the house (in a paranormal sense) once the residents were gone. There was nothing (in a physical sense) left in the house. We were excited since we had the whole house to ourselves. With the time limit, we did not bring along all our equipment.

We did not experience anything while we were there. It did not have the same feeling as the other times that we were there. Even though we have one EVP, it seemed like the paranormal presence that we encountered was no longer there.
