Background:

The interview with the homeowners revealed some potential paranormal activity in the following manner:

  • Noise and voices heard in the house, particularly in the main hallway leading to the bedrooms
  • Aparitions, shadows and lights seen moving in the hallway
  • Shadows seen in a particular spot in the back yard, in broad daylight
  • Uneasy feelings in the hallway and kitchen of the home
  • Kids' toys turning on by themselves

It was also revealed to us that a clairvoyant had told the homeowners that the spirit of the wife's grandmother is often present in the home, and is looking over her and her family.

Research:

There has been no research completed for this case.

Conclusion:

We were not able to capture any physical exhibits and we had no personal experiences at this location, however we cannot say that there is no paranormal activity in this home.  We cannot make ghosts come out on demand and may have visited the home at a slow time.

We did inform the homeowners of the high EMF readings from the kitchen light fixture, which could cause paranoia, uneasiness, and possibly, sickness.  We were informed that the homeowner is in the process of fixing the light.

We were also able to debunk the toys making noise on their own.  The toy in question did not have an on/off switch, so it was always on. It was touch-activated.  We were able to determine that when the furnace came on and the toy was hit with heat, it would turn on and start to make noise.

Background:

The reports in this home were as follows:

  • Noise and voices heard in the house, particularly in the main hallway leading to the bedrooms
  • Aparitions, shadows and lights seen moving in the hallway
  • Shadows seen in a particular spot in the back yard, in broad daylight
  • Uneasy feelings in the hallway and kitchen of the home
  • Kids' toys turning on by themselves

Location:

Since most of the reported activity was focused around the kitchen and the main hallway of the home, this is where we set up our equipment and focused our investigation.

There were also reports of a shadow figure in a particular spot of the home's back yard, so we set up equipment toward that area as well.

Equipment Used:
  • 2 Cellsensor EMF Detectors
  • 2 Olympus Digital Voice Recorders
  • 2 Actron Digital Surface Thermometers
  • 1 HP PhotoSmart 935 Digital Camera
  • 1 Kodak DX4530 Digital Camera
  • 1 Kodak DX4330 Digital Camera
  • 2 Sony HC38 (with NightShot) video cameras

Investigation Process:

We set up our equipment to record the hot spots of the home, both inside and out. We set up one Sony HC38 video camera outside, shooting in the direction of the reported shadow figure. We set up a digital recorder in that same spot as well. We set up another Sony HC38 video camera pointing down the hallway from the kitchen to the back of the house.

We completed an entire EMF sweep of the home, looking for high EMF readings and potential sources. We were able to find one source of some very high EMF readings.

We proceeded to break up into groups to conduct EVP sessions and to photograph different areas of the home. We conducted EVP sessions in the main hallway of the home, as well as in the bedrooms, the garage, and outside the home (where the shadow figure was reported). Throughout the investigation we were scanning for EMF and temperature fluctuations.

Research:

No research has been completed for this investigation.

Findings:

Unfortunately, we do not have any physical exhibits to report for this case.  We reviewed all of the audio and video and found nothing.

We also did not come across any unusual temperature of EMF readings in the home, outside of one kitchen light fixture that was producing some very high EMF readings while it was on. We informed the homeowners of this, telling them that these fields can cause paranoia, uneasiness and even sickness to those who are sensitive to it. The high readings could explain some of the uneasy feelings in that part of the home.

We were also able to debunk the toy that would activate on its own. As it turns out, the toy does not have a power switch and it is touch-activated, so it is always on. We found that when the furnace came on and the heat reached the toy (which was very near to a vent), the toy would activate. We were able to reproduce this situation, and we pointed it out to the homeowners.

Conclusion:

We were not able to catch any evidence of paranormal activity in any of the video and audio that we recorded. None of the photos that were taken that night revealed anything either. Although we did not record any physical exhibits and we had no personal experiences during this investigation, we cannot dismiss the claims of the homeowners.

We plan to follow up with this family and conduct further investigations in this home.
