Case - Marysville Residence

Case Status:  In Process
Case Opened:  July 23, 2010
Case Closed:  September 08, 2010
Investigations:  1
EVPs:  1

Videos:  0
Audio Files:  0

Background:

We were contacted by the residents of the house. They had been experiencing a large number of unexplainable and disturbing incidents.

See the investigation section for details.

The people moved out of the house after arranging for our investigation, but before we came out. The experiences were getting too intense.

Research:

The residence gave us a thorough listing of incidents in the house. We did not find any outside information.

Conclusion:

While we did not find much during our investigation, we believe that the residents have experienced quite a bit of activity. Unfortunately for us (fortunately for them) the residents moved out of the house and we will no longer be able to investigate the house.

Background:

We talked with the residents of the home and the following is a summary of what they told us:

House

  • The house is from the 1920s, probably built for workers at the salt company
  • They moved in during the winter, the house had been empty for some period of time - one year?
  • The previous residents did not experience much activity - acquaintance of current residents
  • At one time an alcoholic couple lived there - there were issues with the home
  • A local, long time neighbor said that all residents experience illness, bad luck and death of animals

Experiences

  • First night it sounded like there was walking on the stairs - this has happened repeatedly
  • They experience chest pains, anxiety, feeling that they need to fight, or flight
  • Feeling of being watched in a number of locations
  • Voices from late teen/early 20s girls/women are heard
  • Female voice moaning (sexual nature)
  • Frequently there are footsteps going upstairs into the bathroom and the sound of water turning on and then off - as if someone was getting ready for bed
  • They hear pounding on walls, talking, sniffling...
  • TV channels change on their own
  • Lights will dim or brighten on their own
  • "Barnyard" like smells are noticed in hallway... exterminators have not found and evidence of animals living in the house
  • Their dog did not do well in the house
    • not eat
    • sick
    • frightened - wanted to stay in kennel when normally it dislikes it
    • watches the stairway as if it is following something/someone - occasionally it will appear to be 'shimmering' where the dog is looking
  • Female resident wakes up every night @ 3:31 AM
  • Cupboard doors will close on their own - but not in a normal manner

Specific Incidents

  • Female resident touched in shower, fingers ran down her back
  • Shower curtain moves while female in shower - pulled open, not billowing
  • While female resident was in shower something touched ear. When she got out, the floor was wet, the door was wet (as if someone touched it), the door was closed and the hallway was wet
  • While sitting at kitchen table, female resident and mother heard what sounded like someone climbed through the back window and fell down - there was no one there. The next day there was an odd substance on the floor where the sound originated - looked like glue/silkworm substance
  • Female resident felt like someone was pulling her from the bed. She was sideways and had red marks (thumb prints) and bruises on arms and legs - she occasionally gets scratches
  • Strong odor of alcohol - male resident thought that female was drunk (she wasn't)
  • After reading the Bible, the activity seemed to pick up
  • They moved out the night that the steps came up the stairs, into bathroom and then back and forth in front of bedroom door, as if it wanted to come in

Location:

Since the house was small, we were able to cover most of the house. We targeted the following rooms

  • Main floor
    • living room, kitchen, backroom - audio
  • Upstairs
    • master bedroom - audio and video
    • guest bedroom - audio
    • bathroom - motion sensor
    • hallway - stereo audio
  • Stairway
    • main to upstairs - video

We only checked the basement for CO levels and EMF - there were not complaints about the basement.

Equipment Used:

  • Three VN-4100PC audio recorders
  • Two VN-5200PC audio recorders
  • Stereo XY recorder
  • Two Sony DCR-HC38 video recorders with external IR lights
  • Two Cellsenor Gauss Meters
  • Digital Cameras
  • HCO Scoutguard SG550 Motion Sensor Camera - in video mode

  •
    Investigation Process:

We did a walk through the house with the residents - this was recorded on the stereo recorder. We then set up the recorders as described above. We performed EVP Sessions in

    • Living room
    • Master bedroom
    • Hallway
    • Backroom

    Research:

No outside independent research has been performed.

    Findings:

There was one EVP found during the investigation, please refer to the attach exhibits.

Nothing was found on the video nor the motion sensor camera.

    Conclusion:

There was one unexplanable EVP discovered during the investigation. During out investigation, we did not experience anything like the residents experienced
