Mel Waters, a frequent caller on the late night radio show Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell, claimed to own property with a geographic anomaly that
- was incredible deep - deeper than 15 miles
- could resurrect dead animals
Waters claimed to have determined th depth by spooling out 18 spools of 5000' fishing line, he did not hit bottom. The animal resurrection was based on a friend that threw his dead dog into the hole and later spotted the animal with another person.
There are many issues with Waters claims, the animal resurrection is based on one, unverifiable incident. The local people/government of the Ellensburg area also do not know or have record of property being owned by Mel Waters. The only person, aside from Waters that claims to have seen the hole was Red Elk (medicine man) who says that he visited it with his father and it was not infinitely deep - it was part of exhaust hole for Mount Rainier.
Is there really a Mel's hole? Or was it just a creation of a caller to a popular paranormal/conspiracy radio show? Or did Mel hide the real location to protect it? Mel has reportedly passed away, so the truth may be never known
